Scott Miller Interview on Gamasutra
Gamasutra has an interview article up entitled "20 Years of Evolution." Here's some of the meat of it, out of Scott's mouth:
...3D Realms is not closing. The internal development is no longer a part of this business, though. ...Our future is fine. We have, I think at last count, 11 or 12 projects in the works. One of them is coming out next week. Another one is coming out in about six weeks. Both of those are on the iPhone. We have some major games in production still. So we're fine. That's not an issue at all. ...The Max Payne movie came out last October, so that approach did pay off for us, and there is a Duke Nukem movie in pre-production right now.
So the Duke movie is not cancelled and is in fact in pre-prod. And there's a good chance that a decent number of those "11 or 12" projects are Duke games, perhaps even ones we don't know about.
The first few pages of the interview deal with Apogee history and a lot of other things not having much to do with Duke, but it gets interesting in the later pages. For example, I never knew Duke3D sold 3.5 million copies!
Thanks for submitting the news, zchri9 & hornoxe.

What part of the interview is a lie? |

That each year DNF will come out each year (or some other game etc) but they fail to deliver as always. |

He didn't say that DNF will come out this year. What you describe isn't even remotely a lie any way, but a failure to predict the future. |

Face it, DNF will never come out unless T2 take it on themselves. If that hurts all you DNF fanny boys well that's not my problem.. |

@ L2theKING I can guarantee you that I have been in the Duke community a lot longer than you have and your opinion of me means nothing to me. I have been around since the days of Duke World, and I have never seen your user name before. I don't have hatred toward 3DR only DNF and the lies that go with it of why it has not been released. Any bright spark will know that it will never come out. After the first two years I stopped waiting for it. Now if you have a problem with me expressing my believes over the game then you have came to the wrong place. |

| I agree with The Commander. I hope 3DRealms lose this legal battle and they lose the DNF franchise to Take2. 3DRealms do NOT deserve our support or our respect. | |
